Pattern Review: Butterick 5950 Knit Dress

I used another piece of fabric from my Los Angeles trip to make Butterick 5950

Pattern Description: Close-fitting dress has neckline and pleat variations, elasticized (seamed) waist, and invisible back zipper. C: bias front bodice.

Pattern Sizing:  Sizes 8-24.  I made View C, sleeveless, in a size 10.  It's, a perfect fit!.

Did it look like the phone/drawing on the pattern envelope once you done sewing with it?  Yes, it looks like the drawing.

Were the instructions easy to follow?  Yes, they were very easy, so easy that I didn't use them.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?  I really like the way the pleats.  I also like the way the bodice fits, I didn't have to add any elastic to make it lay flat.  I don't have any dislikes.

Fabric used: The pattern is designed for Medium Weight Moderate Stretch Knits.  I used a black and white houndstooth Knit from a fabric store in LA.

Pattern changes or design changes made: The fabric is really stretchy, so I removed the  zipper and the back bodice seam.  I also omitted the sleeves from View C and added a couple of inches to the length.

Which sewing machine(s) did you use for construction? I used  my serger for most of the construction.

Will you sew it again? I don't have any plans for making it again, but you  never know.

Conclusion:  I like dresses and houndstooth.  This is the best of both worlds.  I love this dress!
